BREAKING ALL THE RULES!
Okay, I broke a cardinal rule last night. I went to bed a little bit mad, and my sleep paid the price. I'm constantly yawning this morning, which doesn't impress the boss too much when you're trying to explain something to him. I've got a long day ahead of me too. Once I get off work I have to drive at least 4 hours up to central Missouri for a short visit. Oh yeah, and I forgot my ID badge to get in the office this morning. Is there anything else that can go wrong this morning? Well, we are having Tornado warnings all around us, so that's a start!
Song of the day: "Quote" by Evans Blue from the The Melody and Energetic Nature of Volume
Slowly but surely I'm making my way around to waking up with every song from this album in my head. I found out yesterday, while strolling through a JC Penney, that "Possession" by Evans Blue's songs is a cover of Sarah McLahlan's song by the same name. We were walking around and I hear her singing it and all of a sudden "Ding! Hey I know that song! But not like that!" popped in my head. It's crazy how these things work, isn't it.
Anyway, I'll, again, put the whole song out there. It's kind of a sad song, which goes back to my night of unrest.
"Quote you are my soul unquote
Now does that sound familiar?
You kissed the boy and make him feel this way
Quote well this is me unquote
And You have been so ugly you're entire life
So I changed now
Is this how you wanna go down, right before my eyes
You're the saddest sight I know
You're quiet you never make a sound
But here inside my mind you are the loudest one I know
Quote we never talk unquote
And that's when I don't answer
Don't you dare ask why
Because you don't want to know,
Quote Well whoa is me unquote
How different I've become
And no one understands, my dear, no one really cares
Is this how you wanna go down
Right before my eyes, you are the saddest sight, I know
And you're quiet you never make a sound, but here inside my mind you are the loudest one I know
And you were right, right from the start
It took everything you had, but you finally broke my...
And know the old flames will pass away
I saw your life once
Did you see mine
But not all things will pass away
You turned your light off
So I turned mine, away from your sadness, away from the nothingness you feel for me
Is this how you wanna go down
Right before my eyes, you are the saddest sight, I know
You're so quiet and you never make a sound
But here inside my mind you are the loudest one, I know
And you were right, right from the start, it took everything you had, but you finally broke my ...
Quote, hey listen cause ill only say this once
I finally found the words
That mean enough to me
Good bye my soul, unquote"
I was being a big baby last night, and instead of just sucking it up, I acted mad, and rolled over into my corner of the bed. Now kids, this is not the way to do it. If you do this, you will not have a good night's sleep and you'll wake up in a worse mood than you when went to bed. That's just a warning!
My Dream: Yes, I actually had one, which, of course, was influenced by my pre-sleep antics. My honey and I are at a huge bowling alley, but I'm mad at her. So, instead of sucking it up for the enjoyment of all, I get a lane on the opposite end of where her lane is.
I'm really too mad to bowl, so I just keep throwing my dark purple ball down the lane, not caring what it hits. Everytime I look over at her she's smiling, but never looks in my direction.
At one point I look all around for anything else to throw down the lane, instead of my ball. I can bowl with either my right or left hand (in real life too), and I keep trying to bowl with my left hand, but the ball won't fit right on my fingers. I try different combinations of fingers in holes, but nothing works.
Finally I just palm the stupid ball and throw it down the lane, knocking all of the pins down except for "Grandma's Teeth",
commonly called "the 7-10 split".
However, when the sweeper thingy comes back up the two pins are knocked down, giving me a spare. But, being pissed, this isn't enough. I fling my ball down there beat the holy hell out of one of the pins that are sitting down there.
Then my alarm goes off.
What it means? Truthfully, absolutely nothing. I had a conversation with my friend just before heading to bed and he told me his brother was taking his kids bowling last night. I'm sure that's how bowling got in my head. The rest of it is just my mind's way to visualizing my being mad. I think it's amusing how I'm the only one mad, and the rest of the world is continuing on having fun. I think that's my brain telling me I'm being stupid.
Now, I know that was a cop-out, so I'll do a little dictionary breakdown of my dream, just so I'm not short-changing you today. We'll start with what bowling means...
Bowling To dream that you are bowling, refers to the strikes, hits, and misses in your life. Perhaps you are expressing some regrets if you are bowling a bad game. And if you are bowling strike after strike, then it suggests that you are on your way toward a successful future. It may also be a pun on your striking performance and/or stellar ability.
To dream that you bowl a gutter ball, suggests that you are stuck in a rut and need to make some changes of where your life is headed.
Alternatively, bowling and bowling alleys may also be a metaphor for sexual conquest. Consider all the sexual innuendos that are at play in the bowling alley. The pin deck is symbolic of the womb or vagina (as is with any dark receptacle like caves, bowls, containers, etc.) The pins and bowling balls, can be viewed as masculine symbols.
Well, the only thing I didn't do last night was bowl strikes. I gutter balled several times, and there were no sexual conquests!
Purple Purple is indicative of devotion, healing abilities, loving, kindness, and compassion. It is also the color of royalty, high rank, and dignity.
Ball To see or play with a ball in your dream, symbolizes completeness and wholeness. It may also indicate that you need to be more in tune with the inner child within.Yeah, I combined those two, so what of it? I actually like this part. Combine the two and what do you get? "Symbolizes completeness and wholeness of devotion, healing abilities, loving, kindness, and compassion." Gorgeous! That, or I'm a royal brat? Hmm...
Anger To dream that you are holding or expressing anger, symbolizes frustrations and disappointments in your Self. You tend to repress your negative emotions or project your anger onto others. You need to look within yourself.
Being angry in your dream may have been carried over from your waking life. Dreams can function as a safe outlet where you can express your strong and/or negative emotions. You have some suppressed anger and aggression that you have not consciously acknowledged.
Ding! I think the second paragraph says it all. Just like I said in the first part of my interpretation.
Okay, so I'm tired of re-hashing this dream. I've dwelled on it long enough, and it sucked, as did my night of sleep, so I want to move on to better things. It's a new day, and I'm not going to let how yesterday ended set the tone for today.
Remember, don't go to bed mad. At least talk about it and put your soul at rest, so your body can do the same!
